You have tried medication. It has not worked. That does not mean you are out of options.
Many of our patients came to us after trying two, three, or more antidepressants, some for years. They were told to be patient, to try a different dose, to try a different drug. The frustration is real.
TMS is built for this moment. It works differently than medication, no pills, no systemic side effects, and it is FDA cleared for patients in exactly this situation.
From our clinicians
What patients tell us about TMS
“The patients who come to me for TMS have usually tried everything. What I tell them is that the brain responds to TMS even when it stopped responding to pills. Most patients notice the first change in sleep or energy within two to three weeks. That first sign is a big deal.”
Dr. John Abrahams, MD
Medical Director
“Almost every patient is nervous at the first session. We show them the chair, let them hold the coil, and walk through what they will feel. Ten minutes in, they are scrolling their phone. By the end of week four, most are telling us they feel like themselves again.”

The most common question
What a TMS session actually feels like
You sit in a comfortable chair
No lying down, no hospital bed, no gown.
A coil is placed near your head
No needles, no cuts, no implants.
You feel a tapping sensation
Most patients describe it as light and rhythmic.
You stay fully awake
Read, scroll, listen to music, or just rest.
Session ends in 20 to 40 minutes
You walk out and drive yourself home.
The full journey
From first call to maintenance plan
Consultation
A comprehensive evaluation by Dr. Abrahams or Dr. Mogan to confirm you are a candidate for TMS and review your treatment history.
Insurance verification
Our team handles prior authorization with your insurance carrier. TMS is covered by Medicare and most commercial plans when other treatments have not been effective.
Treatment sessions begin
Sessions typically run 20 to 40 minutes. Most patients complete 5 sessions per week for 4 to 6 weeks. You remain awake and alert throughout.
Ongoing monitoring
Your clinical team monitors your response at each visit and adjusts the protocol as needed. Most patients notice improvements within 2 to 4 weeks.
Maintenance planning
After your initial course, we develop a personalized maintenance plan to protect your gains and prevent relapse.
What TMS is
What you should know about TMS
TMS uses brief magnetic pulses, similar in strength to an MRI machine, to stimulate regions of the prefrontal cortex involved in mood regulation. It is delivered in the office while you sit awake in a comfortable chair.
TMS received FDA clearance for treatment resistant depression in 2008. It has since been studied in thousands of clinical trials and is now covered by Medicare, workers compensation, and most commercial insurance plans.
Outcomes first
In real world clinical data across thousands of patients
- 58 to 78% response rate (significant symptom improvement) in real world clinical data
- 30 to 37% remission rate (symptoms fully resolve) in real world clinical data
- FDA cleared for depression, OCD, and anxious depression
- Non invasive — no surgery, no anesthesia
- No systemic medication side effects
- 20 to 40 minute sessions
- 5 sessions per week for 4 to 6 weeks
- Patients drive themselves to and from treatment
- Covered by Medicare, workers comp, and most commercial insurance
Myth breaker
TMS is not ECT. Here is the difference.
Many patients arrive worried that TMS is like the electroconvulsive therapy they have seen depicted in film. The two treatments are not related. TMS uses brief magnetic pulses, similar in strength to an MRI, to stimulate a specific region of the brain while you sit awake and alert.
